State-of-the-art facilities for macromolecular X-ray crystallography are available. Large scale fermentation and protein purification are performed in-house. For large scale crystallization screens, the MPI crystallization facility, operated by the group of Elena Conti, is used. X-ray data collection is carried out at the Swiss Light Source (Paul Scherrer Institute, Villingen, Switzerland) or the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (EMBL, Grenoble, France). We also use the advanced microscopy facility of Roland Beckmann for state-of-the-art electron microscopic analysis. Finally, structures are solved with our computing resources.
